Hi all.. So I was browsing through the forums, coz I've been bored while waiting for my lye and found old threads on sugar scrub cubes. None if them address the question though, or I just missed it.

Is it possible?

I read that fresh soap shavings work best. But how about "fresh rebatch? Meaning the crumbs that fall off after cutting or end pieces or leftovers in the pot (not the super dried ones)..

My rebatch is the freshest soap I have on hand. I'd like to try the 1-2-3 method I saw posted.
Is it worth a try? Or would a slightly older, successful soap batch be better?

I googled and the recipe I found stated to melt 1/2 cup unscented, shredded soap with 14/ cup oil of choice in the microwave at ten second bursts. When the oil and soap have melted enough to blend together, you add 1 cup sugar and FO and colorants. Mix together and put into molds. It does not mention having to use fresh made soap.

Yes, I read that as well.

I found this thread where around 2-3 people mentioned they got better results with the fresher soap:

I figured, if someone tried and successfully made them better with fresh soap, it wouldn't hurt if I had some. But if the rebatch would have a different result then I don't mind trying a not so fresh bar, too.
