Dear Soap Makers,
I hope this finds you all well!
Okay...
so I've seen these beautiful soaps that have sugar and dried herbs sitting on top of them. Are these additions added before (24 hour) insulation period or after?
Grateful!
Raha

I forgot to sprinkle whole rolled oats on my soap as soon as I finished molding it . . . I added some anyway an hour or two later. They didn't stick! I would sprinkle them on right away as soon as they're in the molds!!!

If I put herbs on I do it just after I pour the soap into the mold.
I've not added sugar but I imagine you would do the same - tho I worry that the moisture in the soap could be problematic.

I put rose petals, oatmeal, etc. on the raw soap right after I pour. Then I cover up the mold and don't peek for the 24 hours until it's ready to cut.

Dear Soap Makers,
Thank you for your responses! I put sugar on top before insulation and some of it natually sunk in but the rest stayed on top! I put less than a half cm of sugar to give you an idea :)
Grateful,
Raha
