I almost always get tiny air bubbles in my CP when I use my stick blender. I always submerse the blender at a 45 degree angle and don't turn it on until it's full submerged, but I still get the bubbles!

Any tips?

When you insert the SB make sure you do it at an angle ... 45 degrees or so .. then you don't get the air pocket around the blade. Then right after you pour into molds .. give a couple good bangs on the table or countertop .. just like you do with a cake .. and that should minimize them.

Air bubbles

The stick blender I just bought has extra holes around the casing, I have experienced zero issues with trapped air. My old stick was a solid casing and always trapped air.

If it's an Oster throw it out the window.

If it's not, then try to "burp" it.

I always get air bubbles as my batches are quite small.

I found I get rid of them by hand stirring for the last 3 or 4 minutes, preferably with a spoon. Try to stir properly, not fold (thing heavy cookie dough, rather than folding in egg white) and the air bubbles disappear.

Thank you carebear! For the longest time, I thought it was just me with the Osters.

Oh Mike, I can't tell you how much I struggled because I was brand new to soaping when I used one. And because I'm terrifically anal and OCD - well you can understand the angst I'm sure. Unfortunately it took me WAY to long to figure out the root of the problem.

Ashley, I don't do CP, but maybe you could be pouring it too fast??? Just a thought....

Depending on the size of batch that I'm doing and what I'm making I will get bubbles on occassion - I don't really worry about it and just pour them as usual.

I just try to stir it down before pouring but I too get some small bubbles...nothing serious....sometimes I bang the mold on the counter a couple of times as well. Mostly to make sure the soap goes in around my embeds but for bubbles as well.

no point in it, the thing will break soon anyway.

(srsly, there are threads over at the dish condemning Oster SBs LOL)

One issue is that they have a very deep "bell" that's almost impossible to get all the air out of - so perhaps with a very shallow container or some fancy manipulation you might get better results. But I couldn't figure it out, and then the thing cracked anyway.

Just checked and my blender looks pretty much the same, although we don't have Oster in the UK (I think).

It works fine....

glad yours works fine. good tools are good to have.

they all have a pretty similar design (colors and materials may vary) so it's not surprising yours looks similar. my braun looks very much like my former oster.

weird that the Oster looks the same but doesn't work as well...

anyways, glad mine works as it should...
