I purchased a square shaped silicone mold from BB. I made salt bars today and I noticed the sides of the bars are tapered. Im not a fan.

I am also looking at crafters choice square silicone molds, do any of you have it and do the side go straight down?

And finally....does anyone make a square silicone mold that is bigger than 3"?

Thanks soap peeps!

I guess I'm a little confused - are you looking for a large square that you would cut into smaller bars, or a block of individual squares?

Which Brambleberry mold did you get?

oops sorry about that...I got the slab of individual square molds, not a loaf. After reading here about salt bars setting up fast I decided to try them my first time with a silicone (individual) molds so I didnt have to worry about cutting them. They came out very nice, but since I am Ms. Picky, I would like a absolute square (not a cube).

I use the 1600 series from WSP. Silicone, straight edges (perfect bars), glossy coating on the inside of the mold, etc. I bought mine specifically for the salt bars. The only problem I have is that with 80% salt PPO, I can't seem to get the corners out perfectly. It's usually not very noticable, but if you're as OCD as I am, you'll have an issue with a perfectly square bar because of the corners. You might want to consider a circle mold instead, for that perfect bar.

thanks bettacreek, thats the same one I was looking at! Of course Ill have to try it...lol
