i just poured a 2# batch of speariment tea infused lye. the lye solution was a coffee brown color. when i mixed it with the oils it traced at a butterscotch, maybe a split pea color (or maybe i'm wishful thinking). those of you who said they used speariment tea, was this your experience with the traced batch as well, will it turn green when it is hard? did you use 100% speariment leaf tea or was it a tea mixed with other herbs and flavors?

I'm really looking for a mint green sort of color without specks, will spirulina give me this (hopefully) the speariment will harden to this shade! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

sounds nice! i just bought some speariment tea leaves today! i'd like to try this....i've used spirulina and it gives an olive green color, at least at the amount i used. there were some faint specks of green, but overall it was pretty good.

I got a lovely light green soap using olive oil infused with grape leaves. I had a jar of dolmas (grape leaves stuffed with rice) that were packed in olive oil. The oil smelled so lovely, I kept it in the fridge for weeks after the dolmas were gone. Then I decided to use it in soap thinking that the finished bars would retain the same scent. I made a trial batch, just enough for one large bar. The finished bar did not hold the scent, but the soap color is a lovely soft green!

I found a website on how to prepare the leaves for making dolmas. It also explains how to harvest, prepare and preserve the leaves. They need to be blanched, then you could fill the jars with olive oil - green soap!

I got a nice shade of green with spinach powder that I added to a peppermint tea soap. I mixed it with water and added it at trace to try a swirl, the swirl did not work but the green was nice.Got the powder at the health food store.

thanks for everyone's ideas. my cured batch has a cream color - no green. oh well, i'll just have to try another approach.
