I am seriously considering Soapmaker 3 to aid my little soaping buisness and would love others thoughts on this.............I am no clever Trevor when it comes to the computer so would like to know how user friendly this programme is :0) TIA

I love it. I think it's easy to use and I'm not very computer savvy. You can use as much of it as suits your needs. I use it for recipes, batch records, supplies, production costs, and inventory, but I don't use it for sales records and invoices. (I've played with those features and like them, but I use a separate program for recording sales and generating invoices that I've been using for quite some time.) I REALLY like the way information is given on recipes. You can tweak recipes down to the most minute detail....water discounts, percentages, etc. Gives INCI for each ingredient. Several times I've needed to use it to remember which supplier I bought a particular ingredient from so I can reorder. It's also easy to go back and make corrections if I find I've made a mistake anywhere. I have not been disappointed in it in any way.

Thank you, BakingNana, for the rave review! (and no, she doesn't get a commission from us....)

I love it too, Lyn, but I am so intoxicated with my husband and his works of genius (the man truly is, and kind and gentle, and oh-so patient and helpful - especially to all his customers. (gag me now with a spoon before I go on!)....been married to him for 30 years and he still doesn't cease to amaze me. Now if he'd only agree to play and travel more often....)

btw: I LOVE your blog, your creamy soaps are amazingly beautiful.

Well I made the purchase YAY but did it through a supplier here in Oz and being friday night I probably wont see the code to download till Monday but so excited to have it :0) Thanks to Woodi for marrying such a clever clogs of a man Yippee :0)

Yay for you Lyn. You're going to love it and you'll wonder how you ever did without it. PS: The "help" files are really helpful.

Lyn, what does "clogs" of a man mean? not an expression we hear here.....

this is what he looks like, where he spends most of his waking day (boring...)

He has asked me to trim his hair, but haven't got to it yet. I'll post a better pic after I do....

But I shouldn't be so hard on him...he also clears snow when necessary, and brings wood in for our heat....

and he's pretty spry for his 67 years. Here he is testing the pond ice to see if it's safe to walk on....

Woodi, your DH is my 3rd favorite man in the world, right behind my DH and Dr. Dunn.

Soapmaker is my very favorite soaping equipment.

I wish I could have one of you ladies over to hold my hand with the program - I am struggling a little while wading through all of the different components.

It is a LOT of work setting up, but I imagine, once its up to speed, it will be simple (At least for the inventory portion)...I can't find the calculator section.

Oh Woodi what a guy :0) Clever Clogs is an expression meaning your smart or clever just a saying clogs just rhymes I guess :0). My Mum used to say it all the time and I have the habbit of saying it to my children now :0). Love the pics Oh boy that looks cold!!!!! Here we are sweltering in the heat so a little of that snow looks welcoming

I bought soapmaker 3 a while ago and my computer that it was on has since crashed! I am so disappointed because I was really getting into using it. Not sure I can afford to purchase it again right now...so many other things needed!

I'm pretty sure you can reload it onto your new computer. I know when I bought a new laptop I downloaded it with no problem.

Have you tried to log in to soapmaker.ca?

You can install it on up to 2 computers and I'm pretty sure if you contact the vendor you purchased it from, explaining your circumstances, they will let the crashed computer slide.

I'm crossing my fingers that I stumble across a similar program that's Mac compatible. I was all set to order until I saw it wasn't. It looks like it would be so handy!

After seeing some of the responses on the forum last night, I went through my files and found my original purchase of Soap Maker 3 and the registration code and was able to download it!!!!! Oh man, I have been working all darn night to input my recipes and supplies...I am in love all over again. I do however have many things to do today and at this rate, none of them are getting done except inputing my information and playing with new recipes.

I found another topic on the forum last night for 100% Coconut Oil soap (20% SF) and I can't wait to use it as a facial bar. So many recipes I want to try that I think my brain is on overload

I've had my copy of the software for almost 3 years, and am just now getting the full use of it. After I bought it, I quit making stuff for a little over 2 years, and had to start from scratch with it again... I LOVE it. :) It is so much fun adding everything, and creating recipes with the stuff you have "in stock" and then to make a batch... It's amazing, but it's probably my favorite piece of software. Especially with the inventory value of it. :)

Anyway, I just had to put my .02 worth in... LOL
