One of my favorite blogs to read is from FuturePrimitive...here is a great soap ball embed tutorial that Tiggy did...

And here's the soap I came up with after watching the tutorial and giving it a go...

The top one has cocoa and the bottom one does not. I think I like the one without cocoa better. SHe uses soap balls, I just used cookie cutters and cut the circles out. The soap was thick enough to where I could stand the pieces up. On the green one I used the pieces left over from the cookie cut circles and just embeded those on the bottom. Very fun to try!

I would be curious how old the soap balls are because anytime I have tried using old soap balls from previous batches, I end up with balls separating and falling out of the stuff around it. I tried not spraying them with alcohol, then with alcohol. I like the look of the cocoa powder ring, but wonder if that (or clay as she said) helps with the water to make a seal with the soap around it.

Yes, I know Tiggy already has hers made so not sure how old they are. Mine were made a couple of days prior from another batch. Do you gel? I've found that if I don't gel, the embeds will fall out, but if it goes through a full gel it works out fine. Even on older soap embeds. I don't use alcohol for embeds in CP.
