I looked at the soap calcs 3 of them .... at Soap calc I entered 40% lye content and looked at the water amt and the lye. I then did it at just a 33% water ... looked at the water and lye .... and used the Calc at MMS entered the info and looked at what it gave. Then I used the SoapSheet that I downloaded. Each gave different water. The lowest was 8.108 oz that was the 40%. I thought that was way too little considering the other two came up with 14 oz but low as 10 oz. So I used 11.6 oz.

I think I could have used more water and very glad I did not use the 8 oz LOL

Traced quickly..... didn't even get to use my stick blender but about 10 seconds total. LOL Poured it up at like a med trace due to thinking I could stir it down some with a spoon. NOT I did not have the SB where it could draw air but I did notice bubbles in it. Tried to use the spoon to get rid of them but I doubt I got them all. So I am expecting to have Swiss cheese type soap when it hardens enough to cut. Which could be Tomorrow LOL

I have been on withdrawals! I just finished an orange coffee kitchen and a bastille. Tomorrow, I don't know. Probably facial with clay and some lip balm and body butter...waiting to get some zinc in, though. Will probably wait on lip balm til zinc comes in.

yes soap calc came up with 8.108 and lye amount of 5.405 Lye for a 5% SF. I didn't want to use that small amount of water. So went with the higher #s. Someone had said 2:1 is the least you should go.

Not taking any chances LOL

I am going to make a liquid beer shower gel this afternoon but my big project is making new labels for 75% of my soaps.
