Earlene I have a dough scraper similar to this.

The wonderful advantage to the stainless handle, instead of the usual wood, silicone or plastic ones, is that you can reverse it and use the round part for smooshing (technical term) out any lumps ... works really well (with minimal effort).

Cute stars artemis!

Great idea to use the other side for smooshing out lumps. I will have to try that next time.

Artemis, that looks great.

I have a couple of really small SS spatulas that I use to lift the soap dough off the mat. In many of those polymer clay videos, I noticed they use a kind of a knife/scooper thing called a 'scraper blade' for that purpose and thought I'd look and see if I had anything I could use. It's easier than trying not to damage the rolled out dough by lifting with my fingers.

edit: name correction. I don't know what's going on with my mind yesterday & today! Maybe the medical procedure affected me in ways I did not even realize! o_O
Yes, I am using my clay tools and have one of those blades. The blade is very good for removing a sheet of clay from a mat (be careful-- it's very sharp!). But in this instance, the dough was so thin that my blade was pushing and distorting all my stars. It sliced neatly through the parchment, though! And my fingernail, a little. I am glad I have all my clay tools-- never thought I'd be using them on soap!

Great work Artemis!

Earlene, you can also use a pasta machine if you have one!

Yes, I saw that on a couple of videos. I do have one as a matter of fact. Talk about making it all easier. But I just bought that little tiny rolling pin in the cake decorating area of Walmart, so I'll probably just use that for now.
