Any input on quality soap molds? I made a wooden mold that works fine with freezer paper, but quite frankly lining the mold is a pain. I did make a cardboard template of the paper cut out liner so I don't have to doi anything but line it up on the freezer paper and cut. Are there any really liner free molds? The wooden :?: molds lined with silicone look good though expensive and I can only find one supplier. How about Acrylic? Any inputs and sources appreciated. Regards.

I mostly use silicon baking moulds ... and they require no lining of any kind. My most used are the silicon loaf moulds ... each takes about 600 gm of oil. I also have a round cake silicon mould and a small silicon tray with six muffin moulds.

Thanks for the response. I though about using silicone bread/loaf molds but was afraid that the sides might bulge out when full of soap. I saw a posting on Youtube where the individual claimed that's what happened with his batch of soap. Had any such problem? I figured that even if this was the case you could over come the problem by putting the silicone mold either in a wood box or cardboard made to fit the mold.

I've used the silicone loaf pans and had the exact problem you described with the sides bulging when filled with soap. Problem remedied by setting the silicone loaf pan into a metal loaf pan before pouring the soap.

I highly recommend lifeworks molds. The have a silicone lining but are wood. Never had a problem with them yet.
