This is absolutely fascinating. I would have never thought of curling soap like that. I know it's off topic about the sencory objective but it is definitely a decorative idea. It would even work on the soap challenge...I think it is travel soap this month?

I just realized how I can take my soap to work for single use. Grind it up and sprinkle it on my hands when needed.

I've powdered salt soap and put it in a shaker jar, worked really well.
I looked on Amazon and it looks like they have plenty of borax powder hand cleaner and one normal powder hand cleaner. The normal one has baking soda in it. I'm thinking salt or baking soda would be harsh on my hands. ( contact dermatitis ) my poor hands need soft luxury. I'll try cornstarch first.

If your soap is well cured and dry, you might not even need cornstarch, but a little cornstarch certainly would help if the soap powder wants to clump.
I made my first batch on 10/4 I feel like a spider making a web and waiting for its delicious prey lol. I'll definitely try it without cornstarch first :)
