I am now mixing my own colors with mica powders using cyan, magenta, and yellow. I wanted my red a little darker, but I came close! How much mica powder do you use per ox of soap to get bold colors?

I also use about 1 teaspoon ppo, but some of the red Mica call for at least 2 teaspoons ppo to get a darker red instead of pink.

Can't wait to see your red!
I’m using the three primary colors (magenta, cyan, yellow) to mix for red. It is magenta and yellow that make red. I want to avoid buying lots of different pre made colors of micas. I think this will be a more economical choice for me (cause I could get crazy with shopping).

Where did you find the pure colors to mix?

Amazon, different companies. The cyan was the hardest to find. I’m still practicing on the color mixes and hopefully I am getting better. I did find better information on the web about color mixing. Let me know if you want links.

@Cindy D. @MrsZ here’s the unveiling. I was closer to red the first time, but not mad about the purple! Colors don’t look as good due to yellow light, hand shot is natural light.
