Smelly Soap

hello all!
I made 3 small batches of soap that had no scent. the first one was with calendula flower, and the other two batches with mica colors. as it cured, the last two batches smell like crayons, however the first batch was fine. I used the same oils n butters for all 3 batches. does anyone know if mica colors make soap smelly?

Some people say that rancid soaps smell like old crayons. Is there any signs of dos or other indicators that the soap have might gone off? Were all soaps being stored the same way?
