Simple Mango Soap Recipe

Hello all,

It has been a few years since I have even made soap. I am wanting to make a lightly scented mango soap. I would like to stick to lard, coconut oil, and lye.

My question is: I have essential mango oil from another project. Can I use this for the scent? Do I have to include it in the lye calculations? Is it even a true oil?

Is essential the name of the company? There’s no such thing as mango essential oil. FO yes. Also is it skin safe? As long as it is and it smells okay in the bottle you should be fine.

What you have is probably either mango FO or mango butter.

I wouldn’t use that unless you can be sure it’s skin safe and obtain the IFRA information for usage.

That's enough for me to not use it. CanCanyone recommend a recipe or mango scent that would work?

If you go to any of the soaping supplies stores online, I'm sure you'll find a Mango fragrance oil-- Bramble Berry, Nurture, Rustic Escentuals, etc

I agree with cmzaha, NG's Mango Sorbet is awesome. My customers love it in soap, sugar scrubs and whipped shea butter.
