Shipping to Canada

Does anybody have suggestions for shipping bulk to Canada from the US? There are some US Shipping Address Services (such as http://cbiusa.com/) that Canadians can use to have a US address, but you have to pick up from the US Side. Do you have any suggestions for affordable delivery to Canada? Thanks!

Sorry, no suggestions. Shipping within Canada is quite expensive-small population relative to land area. And our postal system is badly managed and under-utilized.

Perhaps a Canadian distributor is the way to go? Then you can ship to one location with all the related duties and distribute from there.

I can't speak about bulk shipments, but I am a firm believer in using USPS in preference to UPS or FedEx for the smaller shipments I do make to Canada. USPS doesn't charge brokerage fees in addition to the basic shipping fees ... what you pay up front is what you pay, unlike UPS. Not sure this helps you much, but it's all I can offer from my 12 years of experience as a small business owner.

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, I agree US Postal is the best option. I was just hoping there was some secret solution that I didn't know about. Guess we'll stick with USPS for now.

I'd love a secret solution too! So far, no luck. International shipping is a bear.

I think many larger US companies with enough Canadian business end up warehousing product in Canada so they can ship domestically. (And vice versa for Canadian companies.) I don't think there's a low-cost, effective solution for the little guys.

Shipping within Canada really isn't that bad. I jut shipped 40 lbs to Vancouver and it was only $26.00. Shipping into the USA from Canada isn't bad either. Coming the other way the pricing is beyond stupid. USPS is the least expensive option, but there is no cheap way to do it. USPS hates Canada LOL
