I use fresh whole goat's milk as all the liquid content. I just bought a cream separator, and after reading how some of you add cream at trace, I will now try to separate, use whole milk as the first part of the liquid and add more cream at trace. I'll report back in a few weeks!

I didn't realize you could add proteins at trace. I would worry about it going rancid, but I'll give it a shot.

In trying my samples over the past few months, I also think those with a tablespoon of honey (5 lb recipe) at trace are creamier, too.
Soap is still very active at trace. It makes no difference if you use whole milk as your liquid and add cream at trace, or if you add it all at first.

I say, since you have a cream separator, USE IT! I milk my own goats, too, and my soaps are really creamy and I don't use cream. Maybe, as suggested, a different combo of oils? Cut back some on the CO?

I'd kill for a cream separator. It's just not in the budget right now.
