Yes! Think of a nice smelling soap sitting in a soapdish. It still smells pretty good for a long time out in the open air. I leave many of my soaps on the cure rack for 8 weeks and they still smell good. Maybe a little more mellow. I scent at one ounce per lb. of FOs so I use the maximum recommended. Some FOs just turn out to be faders whether you box them up or not. I think the more important thing is the environment in which you store the soaps you are not using. A cool place without a lot of extra humidity (in other words, not the bathroom or laundry room) and out of bright light is best. Some air circulation around the bars is good too. After my soaps cure (and I go for a long cure whenever I have the space to spare on the cure racks) I put same scented soap in light weight smaller sized paper bags and store in a dark cupboard. I have some that are two years old and still smell just as strong to my nose.

I've only been soaping for about 6 months, but all of my soaps have so far retained their scent very well. I keep them pretty aired out. I read somewhere that plastic sandwich bags actually can soak up fragrance, which you wouldn't want, so I'd avoid those.
