Thanks, I think that might set me in the right direction!Someone just posted rock soaps they made for the Trip or Travel Inspired challenge. She has pictures of the mold she used! I don't know if that helps but the link for the challenge is posted at the top of the page!
Kinda tough to put together the proper search terms to get what I'm looking for without getting lost in the weeds. So basically what I'm looking for is something that can recreate a zest or coast bar without sharp edges. A 3D oval. There are tons of round but flat molds out there. The closest I've seen are the stone molds, looking for something more uniform tho. There are plenty of silicone molds out there to purchase. Amazon for example has a wide selection. You could also use a pringles can if you are looking for a circle soap.
Thank you Ali, searching the ovals did yield some better results. Found one at CandleScience too.Search for oval soap molds. You get some with flat tops and bottoms, but there are some with the concave/convex tops and bottoms, too. Like this one.
Yes I did! I made those molds. But I donāt know if thatās what @Johnez means?Someone just posted rock soaps they made for the Trip or Travel Inspired challenge. She has pictures of the mold she used! I don't know if that helps but the link for the challenge is posted at the top of the page!
I have that mold, and love the shape of the soap bar ā it looks elegant, and is a nice size for my hands (which are not large). I wonder if it might be too tapered at the ends, compared to commercial soap bars? (but it's been so long since I bought those I'm not sure I recall correctly!) The mold itself is great, made of thick silicone and not floppy at all. However, something like this one from Etsy popped into my head from Johnez's description: 6 Cavities Basic Oval Silicone Soap Mold Oval Soap Mold - Etsy

Good luck finding just what you want! You could spend years looking at all the molds on aliexpress...
Hi, is the interior of the Pringle can aluminum? If yes do you use a liner? Thank youThere are plenty of silicone molds out there to purchase. Amazon for example has a wide selection. You could also use a pringles can if you are looking for a circle soap.
I don't know what it's made of. I've actually never used a pringles can, but I have a few stashed to try it some time. I've heard that some people line them, some don't. I hear that freezer paper works well. Or if you opt for no liner, you can just peel the can off to get the soap out.Hi, is the interior of the Pringle can aluminum? If yes do you use a liner? I've often wondered that too! I don't want to ruin my soap by pouring it into aluminium.Hi, is the interior of the Pringle can aluminum? If yes do you use a liner? Thank you
I think there is a coating on the interior of the can and I know there are people who don't line them. I do line them with freezer paper, or thin acetate.Hi, is the interior of the Pringle can aluminum? If yes do you use a liner? Thank you
You'll be able to produce a bar that is oval on one side, but flat on the other, but you have to realize that commercial soaps are stamped pressed in a hydraulic mold.Kinda tough to put together the proper search terms to get what I'm looking for without getting lost in the weeds. These are the ones I posted before, from Italian Amazon:Have you seen the cavity molds that have a flange/lip around the perimeter? Like this (look closely at the third photo). Iāve been looking for an oval version forever. If anyone ever finds one, please let me know!
