I made some 100% lard soap with 8% SF, and don't like it. The recipe I like and mostly use is 50% lard, and 25% Coconut and Olive. Can I somehow rebatch this 100% lard and get it closer to the recipe I like? And if so, is that considered rebatching?

Thanks!
Missy

Maybe less complicated would be to grate the lard soap very finely and then make a new batch of soap using your favourite recipe and mix it at trace with the grated white scraps? This looks very beautiful especially when the new batch is coloured.

I attach a picture of a soap I made to use some colourful scraps in a whiteish base (on a smaller scale, but it shows what the effect is). Please do not pay attention to my first-time smudged mica oil top...

That is not really rebatching, but the grate it up and mix the grated soap into a new batch works very well.(AKA confetti soap) It is exactly what I did with my first soap(100% lard also). The problem is that I did not know to keep good records back then, and I can't reproduce the soap.

I can guess that I did not use more lard in the batch I mixed it with, but used mostly CO and OO. I don't really know, though.
