Hey guys, Ive got a question about making my LYE solution. Can LYE be mixed up in large amounts, meaning 1 or 2 quarts at a time and stored to be used as needed? I was wondering since its so rough dealing w/ I was just wondering if it wouldnt be wiser to just mix larger amounts up and be done w/ it for awhile. Thanks, Randall

I'd really like to try masterbatching myself, but don't understand how you use RT lye. Add it to RT oils? Does it heat up enough so you don't get a false trace?

Lye solution doesn't have to be warm, nor do oils and lye solution need to be the same temperature. However, if your lye is cooler, make sure all of your oils are thoroughly melted and you should be fine.

Thanks. I've always had a fear of doing RT soaping; have no idea why either. I guess I'm set in my ways, but as production increases, sitting around on my butt waiting for lye solutions to cool down is not working, lol. Thanks for the info :)
