Question about gel phase

I'm reading a lot about people who like their soap to gel, while others try to prevent the gel phase.

What is the end result with one vs. the other?

END result in the way it behaves and hardness I find are exactly the same. The look is the only thing I find different, in the END result. However, there are plenty of differences up until this point...

Thanks. What is the visual difference that you've noticed?

The color is a little more opaque and muted in the non-gelled than in gelled soaps. IME that is.
