This is my first milk soap. I used powdered goats milk @1 tbsp ppo (55oz) I also used 1oz of beer powder.

One of the two FO's that I used was new for me and I didn't think about it causing acceleration, of course it did, so it got thick after one pulse of my SB. So I did a spoon swirl and you can see how that worked.

I am going to guess that the slight discoloration is from the goats milk, I hope. The FO's didn't have any vanillin but I used some color stabilizer anyway.
I gelled the soap at 130°F for two hours. The bad FO sweated out a little bit but it is slowly absorbing back in.

I'm going to try this recipe again next weekend but I am going to leave out the bad behaving FO. The recipe itself is great for swirling because I used it on Friday and had plenty of time for swirling.

Any thoughts and suggestions, will be appreciated.

Here is the recipe.

It looks great! Sorry about the naughty FO, but I’m glad the recipe seems to work well for you otherwise.
Thanks, the recipe will be my go to swirl recipe. And I have at least one FO that behaves in it. Although the first time I used the recipe, I didn't use goat milk powder. However I don't think the milk had anything to do with it accelerating.

I am going to do another 3 color swirl next weekend and I really expect it to look much better.

I like how nice and bright the colorants are. Also, "Psychydelic Goat" is a great name for that bar. Well done!

Thanks, gelling the bars at 130°F for 2 hours really does a great job of making the color bright. I use a heating pad on the top and bottom of the molds, that way the soap heats up evenly throughout the mold. The goat milk and beer powder darkened the uncolored part a little more than I thought it would. So I may use a little white mica the next time to lighten it up a little.

Ooooo, pretty! I just made a rainbow soap yesterday with goatsmilk - first time using it. Maybe I'll call it the Proud Goat?

Thanks, but it should have been prettier than it is. I used 2 FO's and the second one behaved badly. I barely got those colors swirled in at all.

Do you have a picture of yours? I am going to do a whole line of brightly colored goat milk soaps. We have 2 very large festivals in our town in September that I want to be ready for.

PS feel free to use the name, I don't own it lolm

Is the yellow/tan color normal for goats milk soap?

Not in my experience. I generally get a light creamy color. I use canned and powdered or from the fridge section with powdered. However, there are other things in fragrances that can discolor other than Vanilla. I've had FO's that state no vanilla morph into yellow, tan, purple, or brown. I don't know what they are.

Mine's in the mold still - I will post a pic as soon as it's out and cut. I have the hardest time naming my soap - usually it's a combination of the colour and design! Not very imaginative I'm afraid.

Beer powder?! VERY cool! I didn’t know that was a thing.

I'm not very imaginative either. I'm pretty sure I heard the name some where else.

I got it from "wholesale supplies plus" I'm using it in place of castor oil for bubbles & lather in my swirl recipe.

Sorry for doubling up the question to you. This morning it is a lighter cream color. Not nearly as dark as it was 2 days ago.
