I use 1 gallon ice cream buckets for mixing my lye water and mixing the soap in. These are basically free since my husband buys at least 1 a week and I saved them for soaping. I also tend to pre measure my oils and butters and store until ready to make another batch.

You are doing fine with what you bought. I still use my walmart stickblender for soap making as well as other food processing. I burned out my first one but kept the wand so I had two. One for soap and one for food. You do have to let it rest so it will not burn out, I do not even like it getting hot as that is how my old one went.

Your scale is fine it should work for a good while. Do not sweat better equipment yet. Most of us still use are starter stuff. I know I do. Plastic pitcher & spoon, ss bowl and glass small bowls. i also use my plastic storage container for weighing oils and lye. I put everything into dishwasher when I am done.

Now here is one tip that will save you alot of headache. If you are serious and want to do this soapmaking thing. Buy the Lite version of SoapMaker 3 software. It is so worth it in more ways than I can tell you. But for one it takes all the guess work out of the scale stuff since you can put in the type of scale digits your uses. Example I use to have a 0.00 type scale and always had problems since mine was fractions. I just put the SM3 scale thing to that setting it took care of all the rest. I know have a 0.000 so have set M3 to that now. This alone is worth its weight in gold to someone like me who hates math. But there are many other reasons to get this software like making your own recipes and saving them in one place. You do not have to go online to use it. Plus if you want to do more than hard soap you can do that also with this software.

BTW I am not affiliated with SM3 just a happy customer. :)
