Problem with my sealer

I've attached a photo to show where the problem is. Where the screw at the end connects to the attachment, it's been sparking. Any idea whats wrong and how to fix it? This never used to happen. It seems this could be dangerous.

sounds like there is a short somewhere.
Did u try removing the metal sides/ teflon tape to get down to the heating element strip -- look through the opening near that screw (underneath the blue metal cover) to see if you can see some kind of metal or wiring touching and causing that spark.

www.sealersales.com FAQ section says "arcing" can be because your heating element strip has started to fail. time to replace the teflon adhesive and the heating element strip.
