Hi everyone, thank you for all the amazing posts on here! I've learned so much over the years. I love making my own recipes using soapcalc and customizing my own from recipes I see online. BUT, I just made 2 different batches, which had different oils and butters in them and both immediately after pouring into my soap mold has tiny orange spots on the top. What caused this?

I can't tell you what caused the spots, but if you post both recipes, I'm sure more experienced soapmakers can help figure out probable causes. I can tell you that the spots are almost certainly not DOS, as I learned from said experienced soapers. DOS takes a bit of time to develop, so the spots are more likely from something else, perhaps some additives that might not have been mixed in thoroughly.

Additives:
The first recipe which I shared a screenshot of:
Water was infused with chamomile tea.
Honey powder added to oil before adding lye water.
I also added goats milk powder.

I wasn't sure what caused it so I tried a different recipe, shea butter, coconut, olive, cocoa butter and castor oil.
Only additive was the honey powder. Thinking it might have been the tea,But
this batch did it too. Maybe the honey is the reason??

I haven't used honey yet myself, but someone else here posted about the same issue, and she used honey as well. Hopefully someone with honey powder experience can give you some tips on how to incorporate it without leaving orange spots.
