I've decided to put a photo of the pomace soap I CPOP'ed last night to show you all what I mean. I get my pomace from Cash and Carry, and they recently changed to a brand called Marco's. It looks like a very pale yellow-green, and turns immediately to a cream color once I start stick blending my lye solution. The photo actually shows two recipes-one 2/3 pomace, 1/3 coconut, and the other 100% pomace. It's a bit difficult to tell the difference. Anyone had pomace come out this pale?

Darn, still can't add a pic
But I find this link on another thread: http://www.soapyhollow.com/deception-in ... rketplace/
I wonder if my pomace oil is actually something else...

Figured it out...Castile is on the left, OO/CO bars on the right. You can't really tell any difference.

No picture at that link either!

Have you saved your photo to an online photo storage site like image shack or photobucket? Once you've done that, you post the link that is needed to post your photo in a forum. Check in the preview to make sure you can see it ... just in case you pick the wrong link. If by chance it doesn't work ... copy and past another link ... check ... and so on. Before long you'll become an expert at it!

I don't think I can copy paste links from my droid...or maybe I just haven't figured it out yet. I'll have to get on laptop tonight and try.
The link that I posted is an article about fraud in the olive oil market. I wonder if my pomace oil is actually some other type of oil, since it soaps a cream color. I've never seen pomace do that before...it's always soaped green. The only thing I've done different is CPOP...would oven process affect the color? I don't know. Two years and I still feel like a newbie.

My pomace soaps cream, too. I've never gotten a green color when I use it. I can't remember the brand name off hand, I'll have to check when I get home, but I get it in big 3L metal containers for $9.99.

ETA: The brand I use is Messina. It comes in a green metal tin.
