I just opened up a box of Freezer Wrap, expecting it to be freezer paper, but it is actually heavy duty plastic wrap. Can I use this to line my molds?
Oh course! Nothing to be intimidated by here. There's so many ways of doing things, that I think there is really no right or wrong. (well, I guess lye heavy is wrong, but you know what I mean.)orangetree71 said:Are you sure you want to exchange soaps and get together with a newbie?
Hope you like light frarances, This is 1/3 Lemon Verbena and 2/3 Citrus H20orangetree71 said:That soap is beautiful. Lucky me to be able to swap for a bar of it!
Thank you, It started out as an 8lb batch with 5 oz of Gerber pureed carrots (baby food) for the orange colour. It was OK, but I was hoping for a more intense colour. So just before full trace, I decided to pull out 32 oz of the batter and added 1/2 tsp of Red Oxide powder. Then we layered and folded them together. I'm hoping for more shades of the two colours, once we slice it.ChrissyB said:Lovely soap.
What did you use to get the maroon colour?
Thank you so much for this tip! I bought a roll of the stuff which turned out to be unsuitable for its intended purpose. Freezer paper is not readily available in Ireland, so this is great!i like shelf liner, some people call contact paper, but dont take the backing off sticky side! you can wash off and use again and again
Old thread revived. @KiwiMoose, I know freezer paper is too expensive for you from spotlight, just saw this and was wondering if contact paper without the backing removed would work for you. never thought of this.Thank you so much for this tip! I just use baking paper. It's thinner than that freezer paper but it does the job. I suspect this is the same stuff that I call "parchment paper". I've used it in a pinch, and I agree -- it does work well for lining molds.I just use baking paper. It's thinner than that freezer paper but it does the job. Thank you for thinking of me
It's a thin paper that seems to have a bit of silicone on it. Dirt cheap - about $3 for tear off roll that has about 30 metres on it. We use it all the time for lining baking tins/trays.I suspect this is the same stuff that I call "parchment paper". I've used it in a pinch, and I agree -- it does work well for lining molds.
Parchment paper is something different here, baking paper is thinner for cakes.I suspect this is the same stuff that I call "parchment paper". I've used it in a pinch, and I agree -- it does work well for lining molds.
