Hi
Please forgive my newbieness, but I have just yesterday made my first batch of CP soap and touch wood all seems to have gone very smoothly.
The recipe I used was:
8oz Olive Oil
8oz Hemp Seed Oil
2.1oz Lye
6oz water
Very simple recipe and seems all OK with Sap Calc I think, my question is this.
I poured the soap into two small plastic loaf shaped containers and have left in the bathroom under a teatowel to cure. I know its only been 24hrs or so and very early stages but hey I cant wait to try them out, so checking all the time to see how they're getting on curing.
Today I noticed that one seems to be leaking oil droplets almost like its sweating the stuff.
I havent touched it as I dont know if it may be caustic, and I just wondered if anyone here might know what it is and why only one of the tubs is doing this???
My other question is when should I pop off the moulds and leave to finish the process?
To be honest I didnt expect my first experience of Soap making to be so much fun and starighht forward, as I was always under the impression that it was so much more tricky. Athough I have no doubt that more complicated recipes most probably are.
Thank you in advance for your patience with me while I get up to speed.
