Made my first batch of pine tar soap. Followed recipe had no problems. I’m noticing oil beads forming on top of my bars. Any idea what this is?
Thanks. Does kinda smell like the essential oil I usedCould it be your fragrance oil? If so give it a few day to reabsorb.
not warm at all. 24 hrs. Removed from moulds. Will let sit n monitor. ThanksI agree -- let them absorb back into the soap. It's entirely possible the soap is overheating a bit, and droplets of liquid on top are common when that happens.
I usually don't do anything special to add insulation or add heat to pine tar soap while it is saponifying. It gets pretty warm all on its own.
ThanksMy soap is not warm at 24 hours either, with or without droplets. Any overheating would have started a few hours after pouring and that's when droplets start to form if they're going to form. Droplets are small and easy to overlook when they first start to form.
