Newbie via a stewpot

My husband and I just purchased a 25 gallon stewpot. we needed to season the pot with animal fat before we could use it for the stew. I just finished the first of three 10 pound batches of fat. I am not sure how much actual fat I will get from this amount. I am eager to try making soap from what was rendered.

I will not of course use my new pot for making soap.

I am looking forward to the challenge.

Wow! I didn't know that they made 25 gallon stewpots. That must be huuuuge.

I have never rendered before, but you should be able to make some really nice soap from all your hard work.
