I am new to the soap making world but very interested in creating my own soap. I have been searching for a soap that helps with burns, such as, weld burn and sun burn and have yet to find anything that remotely works. Over the past 3 years I have gained a numerous amount of scarring due to surgeries and injuries. With this new addition to my skin I have been looking for a soap to help with pain and to reduce scarring. I have found in my research that the mimosa root bark can be used to make a soap and is extremely affective in the remedies ive been looking for. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

Welcome to soaping. I'm not sure if soap would help very much in that area though since it gets rinsed off immediately. I would think maybe a cream, lotion or butter might be more effective.

But if you do decide to go with soap, I'd go with oils and butters that are known for their healing and skin cell rejuvination properties. I'll have to look through my notes, but I'll get back to to this thread tomorrow with some more info on it if no one else chimes in.
