Hi to everyone who reads this. I am new to the forum and am also new to soapmaking. This past winter I received handmade soap as a gift and have been hooked ever since. I have made a number of batches but am still in the learning stage. I really appreciate all of the valuable information that I learn from the forum and just wanted to thank all of you. I hope one day my soaps will look as nice as those I have seen posted in the photo's.

Thank you all for your warm welcome. Kitn, soapmaking is great! It is one of the most rewarding crafts I have done. I really enjoy experimenting with EO blends and different blends of base oils. I have tried numerous recipes, some from a book I read and many that I have made up in order to achieve a creamy bar with great lather & bubbles. I use only natural ingredients so my bars have not been as pretty as many of the ones I see with the vivid swirls. But maybe as I keep experimenting I will find ways to mix natural colors that are more interesting. Janet, I am outside of St. Louis Missouri. You're right, the Midwest covers a big area. Are you near St. Louis?

Thank you all again for welcoming me.
