Hi I just started making soap in October. After a few melt and pour recipes, I started making cold process soap. It was just what I was looking for. I have been making lots of small batches to experiment with recipes and learn. I made my 7th batch today. I used up the last of my coconut oil and cocoa butter. and I need recipes that do not us either of those. It is amazing to me how that stinking lye mixture can turn into something so wonderful.

Welcome to the forum!

How about a castile soap? I thought about making a batch when I first started and still haven't done it.

What other oils do you have?

Oils I have on hand

Olive, canola, palm, safflower, soybean, corn, peanut, sesame, flax, almond, grapeseed, and walnut
I also have shea butter and beeswax
I made a no coconut soap today mostly palm, with olive, canola, and shea butter. I used apple cider instead of water and added cinnamon bun FO, and nutmeg. Prior to the scents, I poured out a small amount colored it caramel and scented it hot apple pie. I poured the large batch in a mold and then drizzled the caramel color through it. If it comes out I am calling it Apple Bread Pudding. Wish me luck.

Good luck! I hope it turns out for you and I hope you'll post pics. I still think you should make a castile.

Checked my soap

It looks great and smells great. I am unmolding it on Friday, my next day off. It is so fun to see how, that fumy, smelly concoction turns into something completely different and good smelling.
