Hello all,
Starting to get into this forum lark, enjoying my homebrew forum thoroughly.
I am just about to make biodiesel and am expecting a lot of glycerol byproduct from a NAOH Base.
I am very keen on making soap from this.
I did try a batch with approx 2kg of glycerol and 1litre of water with 300g of lye and it worked but it all looked very very similar to poo... not such a good result. It does work definitely! but takes a little extra water to soap and ( i haven't cured it for very long at all, a week) it also falls to bits which makes it look more like a poo than before.
If I was part of some bizarre fetish group there may be a market but I am not looking for that online that's for sure.
Hoping you lovely ladies and germs can help me improve my soap making plans.
