I made my first batch of soap on April 15.

I've made at least one batch a day since then. Not to include the incidentals like making laundry soap, making liquid soap (with pectin, water, and a grated bar) shampoo, and I even cleaned up the driveway where my son spilled gas with grated soap.

There is no place left in the house to cure it. We couldn't use this much soap in a year. And I still haven't played with colors/fancy swirls or any of that fun stuff yet!

So, if there isn't a current soap maker's anonymous group anywhere, we can start one here at my house. You all are invited to the first meeting this weekend. We can get to know each other...and make soap! :)

You know, I really need to try salt bars too...

i am afraid it will only get worse... i am addicted but i dont want to be cured!!

my name is krissy and i am a blatantly unashamed soap addict!! :D

I already had to invest in metal shelving for my "guest room." I doubt anyone could stand the strong smells of the various soaps, though!!!

Well alrighty then. As long as there is no hope I better get started on those salt bars.

Hmmm, I think I'll use aloe to mix the lye and add some goat milk for the rest of the liquid. Or maybe coffee instead!

Through a series of unfortunate events the other night (none soap related), I ended up in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Since they wouldn't leave me alone and wanted me to talk, I explained the entire soap making process to them before we hit the ER door. I'm thinking they thought I was either delirious or maybe just plain nuts. Some people, who can understand them?!

Hope all the health issues are resolved!

I was just explaining to my friend, that I need an anonymouse group for soaping, all I can think of is soap.My husband woke me up the other morning, making a loud noise, all I said was SOAP ! He said, are you dreaming about it,now??? I guess so.HELP????

Oh, this is so funny and so very, very true I have been making it for about 4 months now and every single day I have off I make at least 3-4 batches of soap, I finally started taking my garage racks out of the garage and bringing them to my dining room and putting my soap on those but sadly I'm afraid I must go buy another one since I seem to be out of room

What was funny today I went to Ace Hardware to get more Lye and the guy behind me says "Making soap" I was surprised since he was fairly young and of course I responsed by saying "yes, Lots of it".

which reminds me, I have to buy more lye at Menards, I'm afraid one day, the police will show up at my house, to see if I run a Meth operation ....3, 4 batches, wow..I wish I had more time, 3 kids, dog garden,renovating....I'd rather soap :)...My kids will write a book one day, neglected because of soap.............

Well, I may be a soapaholic, but it appears I'm in good company.

And, my salt soap looks well, rustic. Yeah, that's it. Can't wait until it's cured!

Yes, but I'm lucky my husband works nights and all of my children but one are grown and the youngest is in grade school, it also helps I only work 3 days a week, so on my days off I go crazy but alas next week my work schedule is worse so I know I won't be making soap so in my mind why not make it all now :)

Gee I hope you are OK!

Yes My name is MizzBee and I'm a soap-a-holic! I think about soap constantly, as soon as I wake up, at the shops, it never stops and I'm always browsing the online stores for ingredients, EO's and fragrance oils 24/7 LOL
I'm sure my family are sick of hearing about it but we all have our addictions in some way, my daughter does cake decorating and baking, I'm always eyeballing her moulds  , my son is a chef and he constantly talks about foods, mine is soap soap soap!
Well enough chit chat for now......time to make some soap!!!

My name is Nattynoo & I too am a soap-a-holic.
My name is Dragonkaz and I'm also a soap-a-holic!

I catch friends giving me strange looks after asking me what I'm doing at the weekend ... coz the answer is nearly always making soap.

I no longer enjoy getting invited out at the weekends ... coz it affects my ability to make soap.

... and even more important ... I don't want these things to change, as I love making soap!

Wouldn't have it any other way! Long Live The Soapers!

Another problem I have isn't just the soap bug, it's the "I wanna add everything in the house" into the soap when I'm making it.

I have a friend with very sensitive skin and wants a plain castille. So, that's what I'm preparing to make now. But I'm having a heck of a time getting around to it, because I keep thinking of things I should add to it. You know, maybe a couple egg yolks, or some goatmilk, maybe some pumpkin to make it a pretty color...and by the time I get finished thinking of things to add, it's not going to be plain castille, unscented soap anymore is it?
