or yard stick and tell me the height of your toilet bowl SEAT. My BF doesn't believe our nifty new toilets are taller than is typical.

So tell me if it's newish or oldish and how high you sit!

I'm serious!

One is 15 1/2" the other is 17 1/2".

When we bought our home 6 years ago the previous owner had recently installed the taller one which I absolutely hate so when we re did the other bathroom I insisted on a regular size toilet.
I am 5'8" by the way which is taller than your average female and it's still too high. (especially if you need to get comfortable, ya know what I mean)

Two are approximately 15" (one toilet is 50 years old and the other is maybe 20 years old ) and one is 18 1/4 inches because it's a handicap one and it's about 20 years old.

Mine s 17.25".

Now I'm on the short side - but not TERRIBLY short at 5' 2". The crease in the back of my knees is at 15".

So you can see how it wouldn't work.

At that height, I'd say your toilet is also a handicap one. I'm only 5' 3" and I think ours is too high. It's not comfortable for me so I prefer the shorter ones.

I used to work for a property management company and there were times where I had to go pick up supplies from a plumbing warehouse. If I remember correctly, 14" to 16" is considered standard and 18" is considered handicap compliant.

This may sound funny but... maybe you need to get a small mat or a tiny little stool or something to go in front of your toilet so you can put your feet down. That would annoy the heck out of me too!

I think so too, Tasha. If there's one place I NEED to be comfy it's on the pot, yanno?

Hazel, I think you could be right. I think the boxes are still out in the recycling. I'm gonna look.

It says "high efficiency" which I think is the problem.

It's also got an "elongated bowl" which isn't comfy for a long sit either.

I'm asking for new toilets for christmas.

I hate elongated bowls. I agree that they're not comfy at all mainly because my backside isn't elongated. I don't know who came up with the bright idea of an "oval" bowl. I mean come on! How many people do you know who's shaped this way? Very awkward for sitting.

carebear - I hope Santa's good to you this year and you get your wish.

the elongated bowl makes it easier for lazy men to get their pee in the bowl. stupid, IMO, to design to take the responsibility off their hands (so to speak).
