Natural soap colorants - need ideas

I read somewhere that purple cabbage will stink up your soap, but it'll be cool if it works. I have the same problem finding micas and pigments locally. I ordered rosella flower extract to see how it'll turn out. Will let you guys know how it turns out.

good point. :think: i didn't think that you wouldn't want a cabbage smelling soap! that would be icky.... i was just thinking about the colour, and not the smell! will pass on this one!

Are you able to get clays where you live? Clays will also color soap. Here are some links to some info which may help you.

so I tested cranberry powder..... used this technique as I didn't want to use it in a batch

and I have to say....it was nasty. the water turned brown, the powder didn't dissolve, and there were blackish clumps. needless to say...they won't be going into any soaps! lol
