Wow! That traced up in NO time! was that due to the sugar? It had to be, it didn't put any scent in and it was just the same as my other batches. No color no scent. I did a "naked" batch just trying out the sugar and ending up puting some apricot seed powder in it and the end that bramble berry sent me. It looks great I just couldn't believe how fast it got to trace. Is this a normal effect with the sugar? I can't imagne trying to funnel with sugar if this is noraml.......

Nope, sugar does not speed up trace. I betcha any money it was the apricot seed meal. The same thing has happened to me when I've used apricot seed meal in my soap. Sugar, on the other hand, has never done that to me and I use it in every batch.

IrishLass :)

It did it befor I added the apricot seed powder.....strange.......maybe it was the temps.....my lye was around 115 and I didn't check my oils....

I've only used sugar once and it did not trace any faster. But, I didn't add any type of seeds or fragrance.
