I like to use 2 tbsp. sugar ppo in my batches. I used to use 1 tbsp. ppo, but then I did an experiment once to see what would happen if I used more, and I settled on the increased amount of 2 tbsp. ppo. In one of my batches in my experiment I went as high as 4 tbsp. sugar ppo, but that was way too much. My resulting soap was soft for a
very long time- where talking for
many months. For what it's worth, it did eventually harden up satisfactorily to my liking, gee....
after about a year (lol), but for what its worth, was quite bubbly indeed- as many bubbles as my 100% coconut oil soaps put out. The formula that I used it in was a Bastile that contained 50% OO, too.
As the others have said, honey works great, too. I only need 1 tbsp. ppo to get a really nice bubbly boost. I add the honey directly to my cooled lye solution. I believe it was Soapbuddy who gave me that idea. Anyway, I have less issues such as weeping and/or overheating with my honey soaps since doing it that way.
As Mellifera said- those nets or nylon poufs really work like nobody's business. I don't use them too often because I find them to be a little too scratchy (I need to find a softer one), but I make an exception whenever I shower with my 100% Castile's. The lathering difference is between night and day. It's amazing.
