Okay I am stuck. I did not think ahead at all and I made 4 batches of soap and poured them in pvc pipe. tomorrow I need to unmold them. What is the best way to get the soap out? the pipe is 12 inches long.
Thanks for the help!!

If you lined it, it should come right out, if not, try squeezing the sides up and down the tube, it dosent take much, just a little pressure to have the soap move from the sides. You can try a smaller cylindrical item that will fit inside the pvc and stand it on the table and try to 'pull' the pvc down away from the soap.

Good luck!

Try freezing your mold for a few hours so the soap will shrink up a bit and hopefully slide out a little easier.

Look under your sink or in the garage for a spray can or similar container that is close to the size of the inside of the tube. Put that on a solid surface and place the soap tube on top of it. Pull down on the outside of the tube pushing the soap through and out the top.

The soap should be fairly well set up... I usually wait 48 hours. And if it doesn't come out pretty easily do the freezer thing. If it's REALLY stuck, wait another day or two... it will eventually shrink enough and come out.

I do the freezer thing and push the bottom end with a jar...it will come out in time if it doesn't right away.

Thanks to everyone for these suggestions. I cannot believe I forgot to line the pipe. Sounds like these ideas will work. I will let it stay in the mold for at least 48-72 hours before I attempt to get the soap out.

Put them in the freezer for a couple of hours. Then set them on the counter. They will start to sweat.

Push the tube over a soup can to try and push the soap out.

I also have luck with dropping it on one end in the garage on concrete. It jars it loose.

Good luck!

I make my soap and let it sit overnight. In the morning when it is solid I pop in the freezer for a couple hours (usually while making another batch of soap). Take it out and let it sit on the counter for a while. As it thaws the soap will starts to sweat and just slides right out and then I cut.

The first time I unmolded frozen soap my husband and I were pushing and fiddling with it for a few minutes trying to figure it out. I thought I was going to have to dig the soap out and loose it all... then all of a sudden the soap just slid out... It was an "ahhhhaaaa" moment.

Works wonderful and to me the best part is there is no ash :)...

Oil your PVC pipes with baby oil before you pour your batch in, the first couple of times will be difficult but after that the soaps come out easily. Sometimes my soaps just slip out of the pipes. I love using PVC pipes for soap molds now.
