Aug 29, 2012 #2 Many people use the lye from Essential Depot: http://www.amazon.com/Grade-Sodium-Hydr ... oap+making I myself get my lye from AAA Chemicals out of Texas: http://www.aaa-chemicals.com/sodium-hyd ... grade.html If you have a local Ace Hardware store nearby, they sell Rooto lye (make sure it's the one with Sodium Hydroxide as listed as the only ingredient).
