I myself get my lye from AAA Chemicals out of Texas:

If you have a local Ace Hardware store nearby, they sell Rooto lye (make sure it's the one with Sodium Hydroxide as listed as the only ingredient).

I love Essential Depot. ACE's Rooto works just as well but it isn't as cheap as ED.

Thanks so much, the ED brand is beads I think I like that better and it is more price sensitive.
