Has anyone else had a problem with lye beads and static cling? When I pour the beads into a cup to weigh, the static is awful and the tiny beads get everywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions to stop the static? Do I put them into another wide mouth container? Though I would rather leave them in the bottles they came in. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I buy the flakes since it is very dry and static-y where I live. In the winter, it is like a Pink Floyd laser light show getting under the covers.

The downside to the flakes is that the container gets a bit of lye powder which requires extra caution. However, they are easier to manipulate than the pellets.

Thicker, harder plastic seems to be less staticy, ime. You didn't say what kind of cup you are using, if it is a disposable or other flimsy plastic you could try a very rigid plastic.

Dryer sheets. I wipe the container I'm pouring it into and all up and down the lye container itself. I even wipe my scale with those things. Works like a charm.

Hey Katie! Specifically. Yes, I wipe the container, the lid top, the scale, the scooper if I use one, the container the lye will go into, and heck you could even wipe the top of the water holder to prevent problems lol. Do it all and avoid any potential issue :)
