I’ve just made my first lotion bars. They were too soft. The recipe is: 100 g grapeseed oil, 50 g beeswax, 50 g coconut oil, 30 g cocoa butter. Because they were soft I’ve just remelted it and added another 40g beeswax. Have I totally ruined it? Is there a way to fix this?

Remelting and adding more beeswax was the perfect thing to do! Your original recipe was soft bc the beeswax was too low. Lotion bars normally contain at least 30-35% beeswax to be firm enough.

You can remelt as often as you need to get the consistency you prefer for your area, since final ratios are often dependent on local climate and current weather.

Good luck, and let us know how they turn out!
