If I did it was not intentional, but admittedly it might be a possibility. I have noticed that my scale occasionally will blip after it's been zeroed reducing things by -.04, but most of the time I can catch it by re-weighing to make sure the two numbers match. I can't remember if I did this time or not (god there was so much weighing that night...). The scale came in a kit from BB so it was kind of cheapy to begin with, and I can't return it alone for a replacement. I'll be getting a bonus check at the end of Nov and I'm considering getting a better quality one so I don't have to do so much second-guessing with it.
One suggestion I have is to mark your soaping container with the empty tare weight of your container. This way if the scale goes off you can figure out how much oil you poured in the container.
