Lip balm melting

I use a lip balm base and had it in my purse and when it got hot, it melted down! Anything I can put in it to prevent this?

You could add some candelilla wax or carnauba wax to it. They are very hard waxes and are able to stand up to a fair amount of heat. I use them in my own lip balm formulas and I haven't had one melt on me yet.

Yes, I like a blend of candelilla and beeswax. Gotta pocket test lip balms! Plus if you sell, you need to test for holding up to shipping temps!
