I am sure this is a newbie question if there ever was one!

I purchased some freezer paper to line my soap molds and I just cannot get the hang of doing it! I end up with wrinkles all over the paper which I am sure will transfer to my soap! I end up not lining them and I am not getting the glossy finish I am sure I could have if I did when I use my molds. Does anyone have some tips?

I found some good tutorials on youtube. This is the same way I line my molds and it's fairly easy after you do it a few times.

Good luck!

I liked this video on Youtube. It's how I line my molds now.

I finally ordered some supplies to make my first batch of cold process soap (have done melt and pour previously). I bought a few containers from the Dollar Tree to use as molds and was wondering if it is absolutely neccesary to have to line them? Is lining the molds just for an easier release? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Depends on the mould. I'm using a loaf shaped tupperware container. I don't like my chances of getting a loaf out of it without lining. The papr lining means I can just pull the tabs and lift the loaf out of the container without having to invert or tap. If you had a nice swirly or peaked top on your loaf you wouldn't want to be turning it on it's head and bashing it out of the mould. Silicone though, you can just peel away from the loaf.
