Hi. Ok just asking I see some people say freezer paper but I don't have any. So I have read some people say wax paper as a liner and others say no it doesn't work. Which is it or is it both sometimes yes some no. TIA

yes, wax paper does work, but the wax in the paper will saponify, as well, thus the paper will be more difficult to remove.

i used wax paper with my first 2 batches, and was sure to remove it within 24 hours. came off fine.

i've been using glad press-n-seal since (when using my loaf pans), and it works GREAT.

when i use my PVC pipe, i apply a thin coating of vaseline

make sure you leave PLENTY of extra on the sides so you can pick up your soap out of the mold without it tearing off and becomeing stuck (ask me how long it took to remember this  )

I've never used anything other than wax paper. Only had problems once when the soap was too soft. I used wax paper so long I don't even want to try anyting else:)

I found it let out oils if there was any oozing, and generally tore, stuck to the soap and went soft/soggy

i now use parchment paper and love it much more.

the wax pretty much melts and saponifies during the gelling stage, but mine came off fine.

just wanted to add about the press-n-seal over the wax paper, is the press-n-seal with mold more to the corners of a non-square mold (like my loaf pans), where as the wax paper left quite a few indents, and in a few spots i wasn't able to pull the paper out. it was in the scrap-piece area, anyway.

on the plus side, i didn't see anything wrong with the soap i made with it. looks fine :)
