I was making a test batch of CP Lilac (Indiana Candle), & it seized as soon as I walked 2 feet to get the mold.
I've never had a total seize like that. I put it into the metal soap pot and have put it in the oven
at 200 degrees, to see if I can get it melted down again to put into the mold. Is that oven temp too high?
How long do I leave it in the oven? Do I need to add something to it. I only have 1% milk on hand, &
have never gone thru this.

Should I try something else? There was NO getting it into the mold. It was bowl-shaped when I tried
scraping it out.

I know florals are tricky, & should have been better prepared. I have used Peak's Lilac, and had no problems with it.
But this was closer to home, & I do love other of their fragrances.

If anyone has any advice, feel free to share! I'd like to some how save this soap.

Thanks!

When soap seizes the best thing to do is hot process it. I always go for the double boiler or rest my soaping bowl over boiling water, it works with plastic too.

Thank you for the advice.

It's not very pretty now, but hopefully it will be usable. Time will tell.
I have grown to love homemade soap. Something about the lather and bubbles ;)

I have not yet experienced a seize myself, but I did just watch a video by NGproducttester on YouTube about what to do, and it seems to work pretty well for her. Basically she puts it into a ziploc baggie and kneads it till it's like playdough, then presses it into her mold. Here's the web address to the video if you wanna check it out: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F91CDjnH-iI"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F91CDjnH-iI[/ame]

Hope your oven method worked out for you! :)

It sounds like you made a good save! I probably wouldn't have set the oven higher than 170 (just to try to save the f.o. from burning off) but other than that it sounds like you did everything right. Nothing more frustrating than having to throw out a batch of soap :(
