I'm new to soap making but am wanting to "graduate" from melt and pour to cold process and am currently doing research and trying to learn everything I can about it before I start. So, has anyone tried using Life-Flo oils in their soaps? They seem relatively cheap, and I can get them shipped to my local wally world and not have to pay for outrageous shipping like I would if I bought them from a soap making website.

If they are pure oils, you can use them, but the price on Amazon is high. Your local Walmart probably carries LouAna coconut oil in the grocery section along with olive, sunflower and other oils.

Yeah they're really high on amazon. I was planning to order them from walmart.com or vitacost.com since they have free shipping over $50. And I'm pretty sure my walmart has coconut oil and grapeseed oil. I just want to try a few of the more "exotic" oils that my store doesn't carry. Thank you for your answer!

Starting out making CP I would definitely use oils you can purchase locally. Walmart carries many basic soaping oils such as coconut oil, olive, lard, and even castor oil in the pharmacy section. These 4 oils make a fine bar of soap and are excellent to practice making CP. Once you get some practice making CP soap then you could start moving on to other oils.

Personally I would never use the life flo oils but then I don't like the idea of buying oils from a company that I have no idea what they have done to the oil before they resell it. I want factory direct pure oils I buy from a tested and true soaping/cooking oil supplier.

Thank you so much. I probably will start out just buying from local stores so I can learn and not waste money

They are hideously expensive. If you want smaller amounts of "exotic" oils to play around with, try Wholesale Supplies Plus or Camden Grey. (WSP has "free" shipping for orders above $40).

Larger quantities once you know what you like - Soapers' Choice is probably your best bet.

I agree with Candybee, though, I have tried many oils and I ended up back with the basics: olive, palm, coconut, and castor. Sometimes I'll use a little cocoa butter or avocado oil to jazz things up.

You don't "graduate" from MP - you just do a different soaping technique. I do MP, but mostly HP. I don't consider myself "graduated" or better, I've just learned something else in soaping that I love. JMHO.
